Here is a little something that we did in early January. I was pretty cool because it was the first project we have done in HDV. We shot it in two days with our new Canon HV40 rig. One thing that I noticed was that focus becomes much more critical at this higher resolution. We still have a few things to iron out in the HD workflow, including smooth slow motion. A big reason why we decided to go with the HV40 is that it can capture in native 24p. While this provides a better starting point for achieving that "filmic" look, it also means that things get choppy when slowed down. The best solution is to shoot in 60i and interpolate fields (plus a few other things) and end up with 60p. Getting software to mesh is the big issue. We are working on it. Here you go.
