This post will hopefully mark the start of a regular series of posts. The reason for the lack of attention for this site as of late (and always) is that when it comes down to it, if there is a choice between writing this blog and doing something else, I generally choose something else. Luckily, I am currently in the midst of scanning and archiving the several thousand photos and documents that make up my family history dating back to the late 1500's.

This involves sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time and gently feeding the scanner a new page every two to three minutes. Initially I passed the time on the interwebs, but I have now read every interesting article at least twice and I still have a mountain of stuff to scan.

We are currently working on several projects. The most time consuming is the above mentioned, but the most exciting is a promotional project we are working on for EXPO Racing. Initially, I called Gus Peters (of EXPO) about shooting a team photo that could be used online and in print for promoting the team to potential sponsors, He was pretty enthused about it and suggested a series of video interviews and behind the scenes footage as well. Now, Gus is a fast racer and a great photographer in his own right, But he has spent a lot of his own time and money building a development team for young mountain bikers from around the state. Gus has helped me out a lot in the recent past, and pretty much single-handedly allowed me to keep a bike under me during some tough economic times, so whatever I can do to give back is more than fair. Not to mention that this is an awesome opportunity to shoot some really interesting stuff. This is the reason I got into photography, I was just a racer and no one else was shooting decent pictures, so I figured I might as well learn.

April 10th and 11th are officially in ink for the shoot. I can't wait to see what comes out of it.
